Do Alligators Eat Burgers?

Never thought you had anything in common with an alligator?

Well, here’s photographic evidence that you do.

Now you’ll have something to talk about at parties!

A group of revelers in Florida were minding their own business, having a burger picnic by the water, when they spied a hungry-looking gator swimming toward them.

As any sane person would do, they jumped out of the way – and grabbed their camera. Cuz that would be my first thought. Where’s my camera?

You can check out the whole story, plus more photos of the scary experience here.

Anyway, alligators apparently like burgers just as much as you and I do. So there. There’s your answer to the age-old question:  Do alligators eat burgers?

Yes. Yes, they do!

Sauce Your Burger Like the Pros

We’ve talked about how a sauce can make or break a steak.

Well, the same goes for a great burger. Naturally!

Famous restaurants are KNOWN for their burger sauces. So why not replicate them at home?

The Daily Meal has the 411 on some well-known sauces so you can do just that. Check out their recipes for Big Mac Sauce and more!

Stay on your patio and enjoy all the flavor of the restaurant down the street. Sounds perfect to me!

Happy saucing!

A History of Burgers

Burger, hamburger, steakburger. Call it what you will – there are many variances.

But one thing remains constant – we love ’em!

I’ve always heard that the term “hamburger” came from those brilliant folks in Hamburg who first came up with the idea.

But that was in the 1800s when German immigrants brought it to the U.S. What about before then? Surely there was a version before that.

Since we Americans eat an average of three (THREE!) burgers a week, it’s fun to know just how this meal came to be.

So if you’re fascinated, like me, you can check out “The History of Hamburgers” and see for yourself. It’s full of interesting little tidbits about the meal we know and love. So read on!

Then, go make yourself a big, juicy one. You deserve it!
