Fish Friday – Seafood Feast Feature

Do you observe Fish Fridays? It’s that time of year when, for some of us, we must not eat meat on Fridays for religious reasons. That just means your steaks or surf and turf will have to wait for another day. And that’s okay. You can do it. I know it.

Okay, I can do it. I know it.

This Fish Friday, if you’re observing, why not try something new? There’s no rule that says Fish Fridays have to be boring. That would be sad. But no, it’s quite the contrary! Want something yummy and satisfying? Taste this amazing Seafood Feast! It’s definitely different than your typical fish fillet. You don’t have to eat just a plain piece of salmon – although you can if you want to!

Seafood Feast

This amazing Seafood Feast really is a feast. It contains four Maine lobster tails, 16 shrimp, 16 clams, 16 mussels, eight scallops, four half-size corn cobs and 20 baby potatoes drenched in herbed lemon butter sauce.

It’s a regular smorgasbord of seafood flavors, textures, colors and more. And it’s got side dishes built right in. How thoughtful! It’s flavored for you, packaged for you and ready to go. And oh, man, it’s so delicious!

This seafood bake is really, truly incredible. And incredibly easy to prepare. You simply place the foil package containing all the ingredients in the oven or on the grill and when you cut the bag open it’s so steamy and the aroma will be absolutely mouth-watering.

And that’s good because, well, you can eat it.

Sound good? I thought so. And even if you don’t officially observe Fish Fridays, you can still enjoy this delicious meal – any day you want!

So what will you be preparing for upcoming Fish Fridays? Put this Seafood Feast in the rotation and everyone will be cheering!

Best Surf and Turf

Best Surf and Turf Header

Do you love the beautiful contrast and complement of surf and turf like I do? I adore my steaks, but add a fresh catch to it and I’m REALLY in heaven! It just enhances my steak like nothing else can. When I want to take my mealtime up a notch THIS is what I do.

Surf and turf is something delicious from the sea and another from land. The combination is absolutely extraordinary. That’s why it’s been a favorite for many, many years.

And this time of year is a great time to experiment with different surf and turf combinations. Fall makes you want to warm up with special meals and seafood and steak really fits the bill.

Fish and seafood are light and delicate – a perfect contrast to the hearty taste and texture of various cuts of steak like filets, strip steaks or ribeyes.

Strip Steak and Lobster Surf & Turf

For instance, a Kansas City strip steak paired with a sweet, firm, fresh lobster tail is a real delight – not to mention it makes a gorgeous plate! The two tastes play off each other and, really, isn’t TWO better than one?

Another combo that I love? Try crispy crabcakes with a Top Sirloin steak for a nice pairing that really hits the spot. Or a delicious filet mignon and a unique side dish of lobster mac and cheese. Yes! Your “surf” can be a side dish! Genius!

Lobster Mac and Cheese with Filet Mignon

Or how about a little bit of fresh salmon along with your T-bone? Split a piece of fresh fish with your significant other and you’ll both get to experience a little bit of the sea with your juicy steak.

Foodies have been raving about surf and turf combinations for eons. Isn’t it time we all got on board?

Check out all these surf and turf combinations and then create your favorites at home! What seafood and steak combos do you like?

Ever Tried a Lobster Loaded Potato?

Lobster Potato

Fish Friday is a time to get really creative with seafood.

Beef isn’t on the menu so fish/seafood is the star of this show. And we’ve got to do it right.

I’m a huge baked potato lover (hello, it’s a classic steak side!) so when I discovered this Lobster Loaded Potato from The Kansas City Steak Company, I thought I had found nirvana.

Take one stuffed potato – or twice baked potato – and fill it with mouth-watering Maine lobster, Mascarpone cheese and flavorful herbs and seasonings.

Oh, glorious heavens!

This beautiful creation can be a wonderful appetizer, but for me, it’s the main entrée. It’s a protein, vegetable and side dish all in one!

Try it for one of your Fish Fridays!
