Steak! Steak! Steak!

This is how I spent the weekend before Thanksgiving. I was pampered by my husband with boneless ribeyes and strip steaks.

Hey, that’s our idea of romance so just go with it.

It was chilly, but he braved the backyard and grilled up his love in the form of some tender, juicy beef. All for me. I’m a lucky girl.

I equate so many things with steak that I’m afraid I’d be lost for symbolism without it. When my husband got a new job we celebrated with a steak dinner. Anniversaries – every year? Steaks. Birthday dinners? Steak.

Where would I be if not for steak? What would we reach for?

I shudder to think.

Good thing I don’t have to. There’s enough bad news in the world right now. Let me have my steak!

Hey, the weekend is here. . . think I’ll celebrate . . .

Honey, I Feel Like a Steak

Ever have one of those conversations that goes something like this????

YOU:  “I really want a steak and baked potato.”

SPOUSE:  “Cool. How ya gonna make that happen?”

YOU:  “Uh. I haven’t gotten that far.”

SPOUSE:  “Let me know what you come up with.”

Yeah. Those are the days when you hope you have a supply of steaks on hand in the freezer because those urges can be a real bear.

Some folks I know did.

And those T-bones you see are proof.

Buy steaks in bulk; save a marriage. Good stuff.

Steak Taste: Is Less…More?

In this thought-provoking post, Mike tells us about his minimalist theory when it comes to steaks.

And he (like me) definitely knows that no matter what, his own grill makes the best steaks.

I’m pretty sure if Mike and I ever met in real life we would have lots to talk about.

He dabs a luscious amount of steak butter on this beautiful strip steak. It’s the perfect combination of substance and flavor.

Read here how he prepared this eye-catching piece of beef to perfection. Muah!
