‘Tis the season for barbecue?

Totally!

Listen, with all the merry makers coming in and out of your house this month you’ve got lots of meals to provide.

And turkey and ham for two weeks straight just isn’t going to cut it.

At our house, we usually prepare lots of BBQ favorites to have around for BBQ dinners, BBQ sandwiches, even BBQ breakfast (don’t knock it until you’ve tried it!).

It helps when lots of the heavy lifting has already been done for you like the sweet BBQ flank steak above that’s already been slathered with a yummy citrusy sauce. You just pick your cooking method (grilling, roasting, pan frying, broiling) and serve!

It seriously makes the holidays more enjoyable for me.

Barbecue – Zac Efron Style

Okay, it’s really Santa Maria style, but with a Zac Efron twist.

The actor was recently featured in Parade magazine and asked to share a family recipe. Here is what the cutie, er, um, gentleman said:

“Growing up, we had a nice family dinner every night, and if we had people over, Dad would get on the grill. He is a bit of a chef, so he would always whip up something besides basic hot dogs or hamburgers. We liked trying different things, but this was a staple.”

This fantastic recipe features Top Sirloin marinated in salsa – yes, salsa! – and features a sweet and spicy flavor.

Eat More Steak – It’s BBQ Month!

So, it’s National BBQ Month. Who knew?

Apparently, lots of people knew – and know. This thing is huge, people.

In celebration of National BBQ Month, here are some hints for making it successful from D Magazine (D as in Dallas – and they know barbecue).

Be sure to heed the advice about when exactly to put those steaks on the grill.

Hint:  Ya gotta give it time.
