Like You Didn’t Already Know – Steak is a #1 Seed

Over at SoGoodBlog.com, Jon Eick has created a Meat Madness bracket to determine a winner in all that is good and meaty.

The #1 seed in the “Red” Meat Region?

You guessed it . . . Steak.

This guy is hilarious, and might I say, brilliant.

It’s good to know there are others out there spending their precious time talking, writing and thinking about steak.

Jon’s got a very involved bracket that requires readers’ input to determine regional winners and ultimately a champion.

It’s kind of like the NCAA Tournament and American Idol all rolled into one. Only meatier. And no one sings.

Or plays basketball.

Head on over there and put your two cents in.

Your favorite meat will thank you. Well, you know what I mean.

Obama + Steak = Winner!

Well, we have a new president-elect here in the United States. And guess what he did last night as he awaited the results from the polls???

HE ATE STEAK!

Whatever your politics are, even if you didn’t vote for him, if you didn’t already love him . . . ya gotta get on board now that you know this.

Here’s what the Associated Press had to say . . .

Obama awaits vote with basketball, steak dinner

CHICAGO (AP) — Barack Obama unwound by playing basketball and eating a steak dinner with extended family Tuesday as he awaited Election Day results that he hoped would send him to the White House with support from red and blue America.

The Democratic presidential nominee watched early returns in a downtown Chicago hotel room with staff, then went home for dinner with his wife, daughters and in-laws. He returned to the hotel after the 90-minute respite at home, with a suite designated for adults and another for children to gather while awaiting the race’s outcome.

I predict a very tasty future for this nation.

Can we all enjoy a little steak now?

YES WE CAN!

Rock Chalk . . .

Jayhawks!

Did you watch “The Basketball Game” last night?

Of course, I’m talking about the NCAA National Championship game between Kansas and Memphis.

Throughout all the media hype leading up to this game all I could think was, “Man, those two places really know how to do barbecue!”

Is that weird? Am I a freak of nature?

Then, the game was played in Texas of all places! Does anyone else see the madness in this?

So, in honor of Kansas, Memphis and Texas we thought it only appropriate to eat some baby back ribs during the game.

All three places have slightly different ways of doing their ribs. And all are crazy good.

We chose the KC style:  pork ribs smoked in hickory, then rubbed with spices.

Our barbecue karma must have worked because Kansas won in OT.

Seriously. If you look hard enough, absolutely everything in life has something to do with meat.

Congrats, Jayhawks!
