Boss’s Day Gift Ideas

Got a boss you need or want to impress for Boss’s Day? You know, not to suck up or anything, just to make sure the day doesn’t pass by without some acknowledgment.

Okay, or to suck up. Whatever you need to do. This IS your job, after all.

Boss's Day Gift Boxed Steak

It’s coming up, people, so show him or her your appreciation the way I like to be appreciated – with steaks!

You could gift your boss with a pen or a paper weight or a trinket of some sort. But, why remind your boss of work with your gift? Step out of the cubicle. Let your boss know you see them as a person, too. A person who’s hungry. A person who eats. A person who has GREAT taste.

That’s why steak gifts are my go-to when I want to make a big impact. They’re memorable and delicious. Truly, you’ll be absolutely golden in the eyes of your boss!

So what are the best cut of steaks to give for Boss’s Day? Well, really, whatever your boss likes is the real answer! That’s first and foremost. Don’t know the answer to that question?

You don’t want to give away your gift idea by asking. So…

Filet Mignon

You can’t go wrong with Filet Mignon. I mean, it’s tender, juicy and very refined. A nice choice.

Want to give a little taste of Kansas City? KC Strip Steaks are fantastic and have a real meaty flavor.

Bone-in more your speed? T-bones, Porterhouse or Bone-in Ribeyes make a great presentation.

But, really, any gorgeous cut of steak boxed up beautifully will be remembered forever. And that’s what you want, right? To be remembered at bonus time? Or review time? Or when you thought that presentation was Friday, not Wednesday?

Get in good with the corner office with the gift of steaks for Boss’s Day. It’s a sound investment. And a delicious one, at that!

Game Day Appetizers

Game Day Appetizers

Picture this:  Your friends are all set to come over to your house for the big game this weekend. You’ve got your favorite jersey ready, the room is straightened up, the TV is all set in the most prominent place. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic game-watching experience.

So, what food are you going to serve? Yeah, they will be expecting to eat. They always do. So you can’t neglect an integral part of the get-together – munchables!

Believe me, hungry fans get rowdy and you want that energy aimed at the game – and not you. So feed them right… and often!

Before the steaks go on the grill (that’s what I like to serve as a main dish when a group comes over – filet mignon, Kansas City strip steak – delish!), you’ve got to keep them happy. Game time lasts a long time (seriously, hours and hours) and that means appetizers beforehand.

Set out some Applewood Bacon and Cheddar Burger Bites before the main entree. They’re just the size you need for people in your home who won’t be watching what they’re doing – they’ll have their eyes on the game. These little bites fit right in your hand and tame that hunger monster.

Jalapeno Kisses Game Day Appetizers

Another winning appetizer for your game day bunch? Jalapeno and Green Chili Kisses. They pack a punch and really rev up those taste buds. Plus, they’re bite-sized too!

Looking for something different? Lobster flatbread is a conversation starter and so delicious. Or put out some Bourbon and Cola Mini Dawgs (pigs in a blanket 2.0!!). Big groups absolutely LOVE these!

Appetizers are such an important part of a successful get-together and they’re imperative to keeping the hooting and hollering aimed at the TV and the TV only!

So give ‘em something to rave about – other than the game! Give ‘em appetizers!

Best Surf and Turf

Best Surf and Turf Header

Do you love the beautiful contrast and complement of surf and turf like I do? I adore my steaks, but add a fresh catch to it and I’m REALLY in heaven! It just enhances my steak like nothing else can. When I want to take my mealtime up a notch THIS is what I do.

Surf and turf is something delicious from the sea and another from land. The combination is absolutely extraordinary. That’s why it’s been a favorite for many, many years.

And this time of year is a great time to experiment with different surf and turf combinations. Fall makes you want to warm up with special meals and seafood and steak really fits the bill.

Fish and seafood are light and delicate – a perfect contrast to the hearty taste and texture of various cuts of steak like filets, strip steaks or ribeyes.

Strip Steak and Lobster Surf & Turf

For instance, a Kansas City strip steak paired with a sweet, firm, fresh lobster tail is a real delight – not to mention it makes a gorgeous plate! The two tastes play off each other and, really, isn’t TWO better than one?

Another combo that I love? Try crispy crabcakes with a Top Sirloin steak for a nice pairing that really hits the spot. Or a delicious filet mignon and a unique side dish of lobster mac and cheese. Yes! Your “surf” can be a side dish! Genius!

Lobster Mac and Cheese with Filet Mignon

Or how about a little bit of fresh salmon along with your T-bone? Split a piece of fresh fish with your significant other and you’ll both get to experience a little bit of the sea with your juicy steak.

Foodies have been raving about surf and turf combinations for eons. Isn’t it time we all got on board?

Check out all these surf and turf combinations and then create your favorites at home! What seafood and steak combos do you like?
