Steak Humor

Steak Humor

If you’re a steak lover, a steak enthusiast if you will – and I know that you are – you absolutely love all things steak.

I know I do. Anything having to do with steak is entertaining for me and probably you, too.

And I mean ANYTHING about steak. Everything associated with it in any way. The more the better. Steak is in your heart, your mind and your soul. It’s even on your phone. If you can’t eat it, you like to talk about it, read about it, plan for it, watch videos about it and think about it.

Things that have to do with steak like:

Recipes for steak, cooking tips, grilling videos, info about types of steak, pictures of steak, pictures of people eating steak, history of steak, places to buy steak, things to eat with steak, how to season a steak, things to eat on steak, things to eat next to steak, things to eat steak on, things to eat steak with, occasions on which to eat steak, different ways to eat steak, types of people who eat steak, quizzes about steak, memes about steak, TV shows about steak, steak apps, books about steak, movies about steak, steak sauce ideas, steak greeting cards, steak clothing, steak gifts AND…

steak humor!

That’s right. Steak funnies! People who like to joke around about steak are a rare breed. But that’s us, right?

Lots of memes these days about steak are funny. But I like to see a play on words or a funny story.

Here’s one of my favorites – you may have heard it before:

BECOMING A VEGETARIAN IS A
BIG MISSED STEAK!

No?

Okay… two steaks walk into a bar…

Still no?

Tough crowd.

Try this one on for size:

What’s it called when one cow spies on another cow?
A steak out.

Okay, you know you laughed at that one.

So, tell me, what’s your favorite steak joke?

How to Plate a Filet Mignon

How to Plate a Filet Mignon

Remember how we discussed being visual people? Okay, ME being a visual person.

Well, that applies to food presentation as well.

When I eat, I like it to be a feast for ALL the senses – not just my taste buds. I think everyone can appreciate the extra effort.

The same meal slapped on a paper plate without rhyme or reason tastes differently when presented on a beautiful dish and arranged in an eye-pleasing manner.

Don’t you agree?

It might be the exact same food, but we will perceive the well-plated version to TASTE better.

We don’t just taste with our taste buds. We taste with our eyes as well.

And a filet mignon definitely deserves to be plated well.

So how does one plate a filet successfully?

  1. Choose a plate that is simple and elegant – like your steaks. A basic, white, circular plate will do nicely. That way, the colors and arrangement of the food can be easily seen.
  2. Consider color and texture. Pair your filet mignon with greens, reds and yellows for beautiful effect.
  3. Think of symmetry, design and balance. A heaping pile on the left side of the plate is not visually pleasing. Space it out – think of it like a painting.
  4. Minimalist is best. Leave space on the plate and don’t pile it on.
  5. Go up. Finer restaurants stack up rather than space outward. It gives the plate visual depth and provides white space on the plate. Beautiful!
  6. Do it sparingly, but do garnish with spices, and a dab of sauce for color and embellishment and flavor.

And, remember, if it’s beautiful to you, it’s probably beautiful to whomever sits down at your table. So take the time to plate your filet mignon well.

Your guests/family/friends will appreciate you – and the filet – that much more!

How to Celebrate National Filet Mignon Day

Filet Mignon

It’s coming up, friends. That holiday we all wait for.

No, it’s not a day off work. The post office is still open. And all government offices will be functioning.

But it’s special to me. And I think it’s special to you, too.

It’s National Filet Mignon Day!

So, how does one celebrate National Filet Mignon Day, you ask?

Well, I’m glad you asked?

Here is a list of ways I’ve compiled for your reading pleasure. Feel free to add your own.

  1. Place a filet-themed wreath on your door, then grill up some filet mignons in the backyard.
  2. Send an Evite to all your friends and family and ask them to join you to . . . grill up some filet mignons in the backyard.
  3. Decorate your home with little pictures of steak (you can use all types of steak if you want) but then . . . grill up some filet mignons in the backyard.
  4. Gather the children for a moment of silence to reflect upon the beauty of a filet, then . . . grill up some filet mignons in the backyard.

Do you see a theme here? It always ends up the same – with you grilling up some filets!

Everybody wins!

How will YOU celebrate National Filet Mignon Day?
