Steak: Frozen With Salt

Well, here is yet another method of cooking steak I have not heard.

Melanie at Lifehacker.com suggests searing a FROZEN steak first, then placing it in the oven at a low temperature for up to an hour (depending upon how well done you prefer it).

Writer Brandon Matzek says of this method: “The contrast of the salty, golden crust and the smooth, buttery center is just pure heaven.”

Hey, that sounds marvelous! Sign me up!

It had never occurred to me to not let a steak thaw before starting the cooking process. This sounds pretty intriguing.

What do you think? Would you try this?

Steak Pizza With Peppers and Onions

For me, steak and pizza are at the top of my list of favorite foods.

But put them together??? Well, that’s just heaven.

Martha Stewart’s got it going on here with a steak pizza that adds a little pow with peppers and onions. Of course, you can experiment with whatever toppings YOU like. The great thing is – you really can’t go wrong!

Groundhog Meatloaf

It’s Groundhog’s Day!

And Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, signaling 6 more weeks of winter.

If you believe in that sort of stuff.

Either way, it’s fun to get into the spirit of a seemingly meaningless holiday, so why not make a Groundhog Meatloaf in the shape of our favorite rodent?

See, if you didn’t like his prediction your mind can go all sorts of places while you’re eating this meal. And if you did like it; well, it’s a cute way to honor the little guy who brought you some hope and enlightenment.

Click to see this groundhog ground beef recipe here. And get creative! This winter’s going to be long, people, we’ve gotta do something to spice it up!
