My “Final Four” – 4 Ways to Top Your Steak

MY Final Four ways to top your steak while you’re watching all those games?

Easy!

They’re a fun way to dress up a steak for a different twist. So here we go:

#1. Steak Butter.

Delish. Flavorful, fresh and drizzled just right. Mmmm.

#2. Fruit.

You heard me. Fruit. Mango, lime – just try it! You might be surprised!

Porterhouse Steak

#3. Salsa.

Spoon some on top of a piping hot steak and just think of all the spicy flavors that will come alive.

#4. Cheese.

Filet Mignon with Cheese

It’s not just for Philly Cheesesteaks anymore. No, siree! Blue cheese, gorgonzola, feta. Something that crumbles works well. Although I’m not opposed to the melted, gooey variety either.

Why Bacon is Called Bacon

Bacon. It’s delicious. It’s flavorful. It’s what obsessions are made of.

But have you ever stopped to think why we call bacon BACON?

These are the things that keep me up late at night. But, luckily, this particular mystery has been solved.

The word “bacon” has Old French origins and means “back.” Back bacon is common in England and is made up of the loin and some belly.

Easter Make-Ahead Menu

Easter menu

It’s time to start thinking about Easter menus. And, for me, I stress less if I can make most things ahead of time.

So let’s stress less, shall we?

There are so many menu choices that we can prepare beforehand, and then heat or simply serve when mealtime comes.

For me, a ham is a must-have. We don’t sit down to eat a ham often so it’s usually a holiday dinner for us. Luckily, it’s a heat and serve type entree. And that makes me happy.

The sides and dessert? Well, that’s a different story.

Click here to see a beautiful make-ahead Easter menu including glazed carrots with pistachios (beautifully displayed above), spring pea soup, chutney-glazed ham, pepper cheese biscuits and lemon beehive meringues.

This, my friends, is the recipe for a fantastic Easter meal!
